M-SYSTEMS DOUBLES TOP CAPACITY OF ITS FASTEST FLASH DISK

M-Systems, a leader in flash-based data storage products, has announced the availability of its Fast Flash Disk (FFD) 3.5-inch Ultra Wide SCSI product in capacities up to 35 gigabytes (GB).

The FFD 3.5-inch Ultra Wide SCSI is M-Systems' fastest flash disk with a sustained read rate of 30.0 megabytes per second (MB/s), a sustained write rate of 20.0 MB/s and a burst read/write rate of 40.0 MB/s.

Complying with MIL-STD 810F for shocks and vibrations, it is the ideal storage solution for military and aerospace systems that require enhanced reliability and endurance while operating within harsh environmental conditions, high altitude and extreme temperatures.

"Doubling the capacity of the FFD 3.5-inch Ultra Wide SCSI enables us to satisfy the needs of more customers," said Ofer Tsur, M-Systems' marketing manager for FFD products. "Data recorders, reconnaissance systems and video servers require the highest disk capacities to support longer recording time with higher video and audio resolution and data streaming."

M-Systems' Ultra Wide SCSI FFD is a state-of-the-art solid-state flash disk that is fully compatible with SCSI-2 and SCSI-3 interfaces and 68-pin and 80-pin connectors. It is designed as a drop-in replacement for 3.5-inch SCSI mechanical hard disks and supports hot swapping.
