OVERLAND SIMPLIFIES LIBRARY MGMT WITH LIBRARY PARTITIONING

Partitioning for Overland's Neo Series tape library provides an opportunity to simplify storage management with consolidation. Many IT organizations are frustrated by the need to maintain disparate and incompatible backup environments while at the same time knowing that centralization of their backups will reduce cost and improve reliability. Neo Series partitioning makes it possible to centralize these existing environments without expensive software conversions.

With the Neo Series and LPO, users also can solve tape migration and management problems very cost effectively. The solution supports all major drive technologies including DLT, SDLT and LTO Ultrium, as well as data transfer protocols such as Fibre Channel and SCSI. Each partition in the Neo Series can support its own unique drive type and protocol, enabling the entire tape library to support several different backup environments simultaneously.
