Chaparral Appoints Three New Financial Leaders To Its Board

Chaparral Network Storage, a developer of specialized appliances that deliver data across global storage networks, announced recently that it has added three new members to its Board of Directors. All three new members of the Board are members of Athenian Venture Partners, a venture capital firm headquartered in Athens, Ohio. Karl Elderkin, Francois Helou, and Mitchell Rosich are all partners of the firm.

Karl Elderkin is the founder of Athenian Venture Partners and brings many years of experience managing startup and growth companies, both domestically and internationally. Before founding Athenian, Mr. Elderkin was co-director of Generics Asset Management in London, U.K., the venture capital arm of the Generics Group Plc. Mr. Elderkin started his career in engineering at Texas Instruments.

Francois Helou became affiliated with Athenian in 1997 and has been a partner since 1999. Mr. Helou, who leads Athenian's IT Practice, is a recognized leader in the IT and Communications industries, with over two decades of IT and strategic consulting experience.

Mitch Rosich started his affiliation with Athenian in 2000 and became a partner in 2002. Mr. Rosich brings experience in the data storage and electronics industries and has held senior level engineering management positions at leading technology companies including DEC, EMC, 3Com, and CIENA.

The appointments bring the total number of Directors on the Chaparral Board to seven.

Storage Alliance Appoints New Executive VP, COO

Jeff Ascah, president and CEO of Storage Alliance Inc is pleased to announce Robert (Bob) J. Irwin has joined Storage Alliance as executive vice president, and Chief Operating Officer effective immediately. Mr. Irwin was previously president and CEO of Petro-Soft Systems Ltd.

Mr. Irwin has been providing solutions and services to the oil and gas industry since 1989 and has a history of successful ventures both on a national and international scale. His most recent success was with Petro-Soft Systems Ltd, an oil and gas software provider where Bob was responsible for signing such high profile clients as Exxon Mobile. Under Bob's leadership, Petro-Soft became a highly profitable global provider of process management software in less than 2 years. His work in the energy sector has seen him engaged with clients in Canada, the USA, China, Russia, and elsewhere. Robert received his B.Sc. from the University of Calgary and an M.B.A from Canada's prestigious Royal Roads University.
