InoStor LAUNCHES InteliNAS NETWORK ATTACHED STORAGE SOLUTION

InoStor, a Tandberg Data company, has announced its InteliNAS, a high-performance, scalable Network Attached Storage solution that incorporates the company's revolutionary RAIDn technology. The second NAS appliance to be launched by the company in the past year, InteliNAS is uniquely positioned to meet the expanding demand in ROBO (Remote Office Branch Office) and mid-size business markets. The company launched its first one TeraByte NAS device, PerformNAS in October of 2002.

InoStor's patent-pending technology, RAIDn, implemented in Inostor's InteliNAS servers establishes new levels of price/performance/availability within the NAS market. Now small to mid-size businesses can have even greater levels of data availability and data protection above those currently employed in enterprise-level servers using traditional RAID implementations. Remote and branch offices, typically with understaffed IT departments, will benefit from IntelliNAS's low entry cost, reduced administrative costs, increased reliability and higher fault-tolerance, in addition to its unrivaled performance.

The innovative RAIDn technology allows users to "dial-in" their required level of "insurance" against multiple, concurrent disk drive failures. The new InteliNAS Network Attached Storage appliances feature up to 882GB of capacity in our InteliNAS 6000 models and up to 1.3TB in our 9000 series, and can scale to 2.6TB with an optional expansion chassis. Both the InteliNAS 6000 and InteliNAS 9000 are high-density 2U rackmount devices supporting RAIDn as well as the traditional RAID levels 0,1,4,5, 0+1. InteliNAS offers 10,000 RPM SCSI hard disks, dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet connectivity, snapshot, multi-platform file sharing, hot swap drives, dual redundant power supplies and support for 3rd party back-up agents. The InteliNAS 6000 also features optional integrated tape back-up (using SLR or SDLT tape technologies). The 9000 model provides support for the attachment of an external tape device via a SCSI connection. InteliNAS can be optionally configured with up to four Gigabit Ethernet connections. A full three-year advance replacement warranty is standard. Optional on-site service plans are also available.
