EDUCOM'S EAS 3.0 ACCELERATES EMAIL MANAGEMENT EVOLUTION

One of the key feature upgrades to EAS is the fully distributed architecture that enables users to manage Microsoft Exchange email records across geographically dispersed locations. Users can easily access and retrieve archived email regardless of their geographic location within the organization. EAS 3.0 is archive centric. EAS 3.0 continues to support an EAS Central Archive Information Store, however, it can also support temporary distributed archives at strategic locations -- thus reducing server overload and eliminating bandwidth concerns. The remote view and monitor ing tool empowers administrators to remotely monitor server thresholds. As a result, companies can centrally manage their email policies, while allowing for regional dependencies and administration of messages.

EAS 3.0 is able to write to multiple devices, it supports advanced clustering with load balancing, disaster recovery through enhanced fail-over and sophisticated storage and retention. The EAS Storage and Retention Manager (EAS-StoRM) manages EAS archive stores. EAS-StoRM's advanced policy engine assists organizations in their efforts to be compliant with legislative requirements, and internal record retention rules by enabling companies to fully manage the lifecycle of their email. EAS-StoRM is able too move, copy or purge records in accordance with legislative and corporate policies. When used with EMC-Centera, EAS will identify and establish the retention period in concert with EMC-Centera. Once the retention period is up, EAS-StoRM ensures that email records are properly disposed of by purging the email and its associated attachments.
