INNOVATION Solution Suite Announces New Support For EMC

Commenting on the new Symmetrix DMX, the latest EMC high-end storage system for z/OS, OS/390, Linux, UNIX and Windows environments, independent storage management software vendor INNOVATION Data Processing Inc announced that all components of its FDR Storage Management Solution Suite, including FDRSOS and FDR/UPSTREAM, the enterprise component for Linux, UNIX and Windows, and FDRPAS the solution for non-disruptive installation of new disk storage, as well as IAM, their VSAM application accelerator, have all successfully demonstrated full support for the Symmetrix DMX series and its accompanying Enginuity operating environment at EMC's mainframe storage test facility in Hopkinton, MA.

"The new EMC Symmetrix DMX Series," according to Thomas J. Meehan, INNOVATION vice president Advanced Technology, "is without exception the finest EMC storage offering to date. Customers need this high-performance, highly functional system to keep pace as Internet and real-time e-business applications drive up the amount of data stored on their mainframe, Linux, UNIX, Windows and LAN servers."

"FDRINSTANT and FDRPAS certifying tests on the new DMX Symmetrix system," Meehan went on, "clearly demonstrate the DMX advantages in performance, availability, functionality and scalability."

Current releases of FDR (Fast Dump Restore), ABR and FDRCPK, support Symmetrix DMX series storage. FDRINSTANT, FASTCPK (w/TimeFinder), ABRINSTANT, FDRSOS, FDR/UPSTREAM/SOS and FDRPAS (Plug and Swap) DMX capable versions (V5.4L24) are shipping as normal maintenance.
