QUALCOMM Chooses nStor's Wahoo RAID For Digital Cinema SAN

nStor Technologies Inc announces that QUALCOMM Incorporated selected nStor's 4320F 2Gbit Fibre Channel Disk Array Storage System for their digital cinema application. The 4320F will be the center of QUALCOMM's digital cinema SAN, serving multiple digital encoders for multi-screen theaters.

"nStor's new Wahoo RAID controller used in conjunction with QUALCOMM's advanced compression technology helped them achieve unprecedented performance levels for their Digital Cinema Applications," stated Dave Geene, senior vice president Sales & Marketing for nStor. "It's exciting to have QUALCOMM use our 4320F dual-active RAID system and StorView software in such an innovative break-through application."

Mr. Geene further commented, "QUALCOMM chose the Wahoo based system over other available RAID arrays because of its easy installation, flexible RAID controller features, automatic fabric SAN logon, ability to meet bandwidth requirements for multiple decoders, and our responsive sales support."

The NexStor 4320F disk array system is based on nStor's Wahoo dual-active 2Gbit Fibre Channel RAID controller. The 4320F supports four independent host connections, built-in volume sharing, dynamic cache allocation, and unrestricted LUN expansion. StorView is nStor's web-based storage management software that provides a highly intuitive visual user interface and remote network support capabilities.
