PROCOM REVEALS NetFORCE 4000 SERIES NAS FILER

At Storage World Conference 2003, Procom Technology, a global leader in network attached storage (NAS) solutions, will publicly demonstrate for the first time its recently introduced NetFORCE 4000 high-end NAS filer. Procom will be exhibiting in booth #505 during SWC, May 6 and 7 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, Calif.

The company will also participate in the conference's Hands-On Storage Clinic, where it will demonstrate ProMirror -- Procom's exclusive disaster recovery software option for the NetFORCE series -- in the "Intensive Care Unit" showcasing business continuance solutions.

The NetFORCE 4000 series brings to Procom's popular NAS filer family improved storage density and performance -- thanks to lower-profile components and a 2-gigabit-per-second Fibre Channel back end -- making it ideal for enterprises with data-intensive applications. Scalability is also improved; the NetFORCE Model 4200c, for example, has a dual-head, fully redundant design that provides high availability and allows the filer to scale to 32.7 terabytes of storage capacity. Conference attendees will get to experience NetFORCE's easy-to-use browser-based GUI and acquaint themselves with the filer's many standard features, such as checkpoint support for immediate file recovery; dynamic volume expansion; cross-platform, heterogeneous file sharing; NDMP-compliant backup; and SNMP monitoring.

At the Hands-On Storage Clinic, Procom will show how its ProMirror disaster recovery software option provides true 24/7 business continuance for NetFORCE users. ProMirror maintains a near real-time copy of mission-critical data at a geographically remote site, which ensures that data from the source filer is continuously reflected onto the target filer. Its many-to-one mirroring feature enables NetFORCE filers located at multiple sites to synchronize data with a single NetFORCE filer, and cross-mirroring further heightens performance by providing local access of critical information while replicating it to an alternate site, thus avoiding wide-area network latency.
