FalconStor AND SIRIUS HARVEST HIGH AVAILABILITY

FalconStor Software Inc, a leading developer of network storage infrastructure software solutions, and Sirius Computer Solutions, the largest IBM midrange eServer reseller in the world, announced that the companies have worked together to develop and deploy a comprehensive, high availability storage solution comprised of FalconStor's IPStor software and IBM's TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Server ("Shark") at a leading Midwestern consumer retailer.

IT requirements established by the customer included two critical components: nonstop access to the company's existing OpenVMS servers, and advanced storage services that delivered aggregation, provisioning and high availability. With budget and resources shrinking, the retail customer also needed to maximize return on investment (ROI) and minimize total cost of ownership (TCO). The FalconStor IPStor/Sirius Enterprise Storage Server solution proved to be the best price/performer, and was chosen by the customer over several competing solutions.

With data significantly increasing, and out-of-space downtime a growing concern, the retailer not only needed to increase storage resources, but also wanted to move its storage infrastructure to a SAN environment, while leveraging existing storage investments. Sirius and FalconStor transformed the company's data center into a seamless SAN environment that ensured business continuity and high data availability by leveraging IPStor technology to bridge the company's existing OpenVMS to new storage arrays.
