FIBRE CHANNEL INDUSTRY SEES CONTINUED GROWTH

The Fibre Channel Industry Association has announced five new additions to its membership -- EMC, Intel, JDS Uniphase, Texas Memory Systems and RAIDsys.

"The Fibre Channel community continues to grow and these new additions to our membership validate the health and robustness of the industry," said Tom Hammond-Doel, chairman of the FCIA's membership committee.

The continued expansion of the fibre channel industry is accelerated by a growing number of businesses taking advantage of an all Fibre Channel storage infrastructure. IT managers are now, more than ever, tasked with doing more with less. Fibre channel storage networking fulfill that demand by providing higher performance, lower cost of implementation, and increased investment protection through standards-based interoperability than competitive solutions. It has been generally proven that the adoption of standards-based technology allows businesses of all sizes to deploy best of breed solutions.

"Fibre Channel is ubiquitous in storage networking and will remain the dominant technology for the foreseeable future," said Jamie Gruener Senior Analyst for the Yankee Group. "Other storage networking technology available today can not rival the performance, robustness or market momentum Fibre Channel presents."
