InfiniCon GETS MVP FINALIST RECOGNITION AT STORAGE WORLD

InfiniCon Systems, a premier provider of shared I/O and switching solutions for next-generation server networks, announced recently that the company's InfinIO 7000 Shared I/O and Clustering System has again been recognized by industry experts; this time being named a finalist in the Most Valuable Product (MVP) awards category at the Storage World Conference, May 5-7, at the Disneyland Hotel, Anaheim, California. The InfinIO 7000 won Product of the Year at the 2003 Server I/O Conference, in January.

"I was very excited that InfiniCon was selected as a finalist for the Most Valuable Product Award 2003," said Daniel Delshad, chairman and founder of the Storage World Conference. "InfiniCon's product made it through a very intense round of submissions. This is a great accomplishment for the entire InfiniCon team."

The 2003 Storage Industry Most Valuable Product is a vendor-only award, which showcases the storage and networking industry's best products that deliver real user value. InfinIO 7000 is competing in the networking equipment category against industry giants Brocade, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, and McData. Launched in September 2002, the InfinIO 7000 is the industry's first external I/O system that leverages the InfiniBand architecture to deliver standards-based, low-latency, 10Gb networking for the commodity server and storage arena. Its combination of high-speed switching and shared I/O capabilities are key enablers for building enterprise IT infrastructures that can support the scalability, performance, and management requirements of grid, fabric, and cluster-based computing.

"Since its inception, InfiniCon's mission has always centered around driving ROI from the server investment through enabling rapid server deployment, at far lower cost, while slashing the management overhead," said InfiniCon CEO Charles Foley. "The fact that InfiniCon has been included in the finals of the MVP awards, against some of the largest and most successful players in our industry, is a measure of how far the company and InfiniBand technology have come in a short span of time."

The conference's program includes keynote addresses from leading industry companies, panel discussions on strategic issues, end-user case studies, an exhibitor showcase of the latest technologies, as well as the launch of a new certification program and an inaugural industry awards event.
