Atempo Expands Disk-Based Backup Support With BladeStore

Atempo, the developer of Time Navigator, a leading software platform for high-performance backup and recovery, and StorageTek (Storage Technology Corp) have jointly announced qualification of Atempo's Time Navigator with StorageTek's BladeStore disk subsystem. This means that high volumes of data can be backed up quickly and reliably, and recovered rapidly, at a very advantageous cost.

The combination of Time Navigator and BladeStore is intended to complement traditional tape-based backup and recovery architectures. StorageTek's BladeStore disk subsystem forms part of StorageTek's range of tailored data protection solutions, designed to enable companies to have timely access to their information assets. Its innovative intelligent BladeStore architecture delivers the ability to store large quantities of data in a small footprint at a greatly reduced cost. It combines low-cost ATA disk drives for data storage, and the performance and reliability of an enterprise class Fibre-Channel disk system. Atempo's Time Navigator advanced features provide storage administrators with a more robust data protection solution, capable of managing the entire disk-to-disk-to-tape backup and restore process.
