SPSS Inc Announces General Availability Of NetGenesis 6.0
SPSS Inc, a worldwide provider of predictive analytics, has announced the
general availability of NetGenesis 6.0, the latest version of its enterprise
Web analytics solution. NetGenesis enables businesses to analyze their Web
sites, accurately measuring the effectiveness of content, online transactions
and marketing campaigns, so that they can make better business decisions
regarding their Web channel.
"Over the last three years, NetGenesis has helped our organization more
than
double its customer retention rate," said Richard Bilodeau, director of
Marketing and Interactive Technology at RSN. "As our Web presence has evolved
into a profitable marketing channel, NetGenesis has proven to be a strategic
solution for monitoring site traffic. It has also helped us identify the
content that will most effectively appeal to our customers, and drive online
sales and referrals."
This latest release of NetGenesis focuses on the needs of enterprise
customers. Its significantly improved importing performance, superior
reporting functionality and enhanced usability make it particularly well
suited for organizations with complex Web channels. Highlights of NetGenesis
6.0 include:
- Completely redesigned, scalable import architecture: The NetGenesis 6.0
importer has been fully re-designed for improved performance, including better
utilization of underlying hardware, decreased processing time for data, and
better handling of multiple small imports.
- Improved report performance: NetGenesis reports now run more quickly
through the addition of new aggregates and report tuning. NetGenesis 6.0
introduces additional reporting aggregates for complex reports like
clickstreams.
- Support for page dotting: NetGenesis supports all data collection
techniques and technologies used to track online user behavior, including page
dotting, Web server log files, network packet sniffers and Web server
plug-ins.
- The industry's most accurate view of the customer: New improvements to
user
identification algorithms allow businesses to clearly and definitively
identify customers as they transition from "anonymous" to "cookied" status
during the course of their lifecycle. By accurately identifying online users,
effective multi-channel analysis can now be accomplished by subsequent
correlation of these users with offline users.
- Enhanced reporting capabilities: Enhanced reporting capabilities help
users
create meaningful, easy-to-understand reports with less effort. NetGenesis 6.0
includes improved default graph settings for out-of-the-box reports. It also
provides more flexible report display options, including new tabular and
graphic formats, better report totaling, an improved user interface for
editors and new default filters that improve result values.
- Report creation "guidance" and report "compatibility check": The
product's
InfraLens Web Reporter has been enhanced to improve its overall usability and
is an integrated component of NetGenesis 6.0. InfraLens now includes built-in
intelligence to ensure logical, accurate and useful reports, making it easier
for users with varying skill levels to create them. Report creation guidance
ensures that users are adding correct, compatible attributes and metrics to a
report, while report compatibility check evaluates existing reports to ensure
compatible objects are being used.
- Enhanced support for streaming media formats: NetGenesis 6.0 enables
deeper
analysis of streaming media log files, now with support for all major formats
including RealNetworks, Apple QuickTime and Microsoft Windows Media Server.
Additionally, NetGenesis 6.0 now allows for capturing of additional fields
exclusive to streaming media, ultimately enabling more advanced
streaming-specific metrics and analyses.
- More automated system maintenance: New functionality in NetGenesis 6.0
minimizes the time and effort required for product administration,
particularly database management. Several features that simplify
administration include database integrity and database growth monitoring,
configuration settings migration, product log file rotation, user-definable
overlap thresholds, maintenance events improvements, configuration audit
logging, analyzed statistics integration and command line parity expansion.
"Web sites are a ubiquitous channel for customer, prospect and partner
interactions, as well as commerce," said Eric Richard, chief architect at SPSS
Inc. and the original developer of NetGenesis. "However, most companies can't
effectively conduct useful analyses of complex, high-value sites. NetGenesis
6.0 enables businesses to leverage all of their Web site data to make more
informed business decisions."
Pricing & Availability
Pricing begins at $80,000 and scales based on the size and complexity of
the
deployment. NetGenesis 6.0 supports Windows 2000, Microsoft SQL Server 2000,
Sun Solaris 7 and 8, and Oracle8i Standard or Enterprise editions.
