KANGURU RELEASES FIRST 2GB USB 2.0 FLASH DRIVE

Kanguru Solutions has announced the release a groundbreaking new product, the 2GB KanguruMicro Drive 2.0, a high speed USB2.0 flash drive with encryption and compression features.

"We are taking USB Flash Drives to the next level with the release of this product." said Nate Cote, vice president of product management for Kanguru Solutions, "This drive is an industry first on four unique levels. First, it incorporates an embedded encryption program (called KanguruGuard) that allows users to create a password protected portion of their drive; second, the KanguruGuard also allows data to be compressed, effectively doubling or even tripling the drive's capacity. Third, it offers the new USB 2.0 standard, providing incredible throughput speeds and last, its ability to store as much as 2GB make it the largest capacity USB Flash Drive available today."

The encryption and compression features are built into the device in the form of two special folders. One folder, called "Secret," allows any data that is placed into it to become both compressed and encrypted, requiring a secure password for data access. The other folder, called "Zip," offers the ability to compress files so the user can compress non-confidential data as well to create more space for more files.

This drive is equipped with 32-bit encryption but DES, 3 DES and Blowfish encryption formats are available to the customer with this product, upon request.

Measuring just 3 inches in length and weighing only 21g, the KanguruMicro Drive 2.0 is an excellent storage solution for mobile users. Starting at $39.95, it is available in capacities ranging from 32MB to 2GB. The KanguruMicro Drive 2.0 is operational with Windows, Macintosh and Linux, offers plug and play capabilities, and is driverless with most operating systems. It also requires no external power and is backwards compatible with USB1.1. Additionally, an optional desktop docking station is available for added convenience.
