NuView LEVERAGES THE POWER OF NetApp MANAGE ONTAP SDK

NuView Inc, leading the charge in simplifying the management of networked file storage, and Network Appliance Inc, a leading provider of enterprise storage solutions, have announced that their co-developed VFM (Virtual File Manager) software will leverage the NetApp Manage ONTAP Software Developers' Kit (SDK) to enhance its virtualization, data movement and reporting capabilities and further simplify the management and deployment of NetApp storage infrastructures.

The Manage ONTAP SDK allows NuView to use the newly available collection of APIs to create powerful storage management features for NetApp storage solutions, resulting in high-performance, centralized management solutions for customers. By utilizing standards-based technology, Manage ONTAP SDK opens up the Network Appliance operating system, Data ONTAP, and simplifies the development of solutions that are tightly integrated with the NetApp unified storage environment.

VFM, a data management software solution developed by NuView and sold by Network Appliance on an OEM basis, is one of the industry's leading file-level storage virtualization solutions. It enables aggregation and centralized management of networked file storage, making it possible for storage administrators to add, consolidate, migrate and failover storage systems and Windows servers. More importantly, it provides administrators with powerful policies that enable them to perform the above tasks without causing downtime to users. Users also benefit from simplified access to their data as VFM creates a unified view of data distributed across heterogeneous file servers.
