InVision PAIRS WITH NETWORK STO SOLUTIONS ON HOME LAND SEC

Network Storage Solutions, a developer of Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions, announced that they have entered into an OEM agreement with InVision Technologies Inc, a manufacturer of airport security scanning devices. Under the terms of the agreement, NSS will supply InVision with NAS products for integration into the InVision CTX 9000 DSi, CTX 5500 DS, and CTX 2500 explosives detection systems. The explosives detection systems are used worldwide for screening passenger checked luggage. NSS will supply InVision Technologies Inc with their StorageAppliance 500 and 500T family of 1U and stand-alone tower NAS appliances to be used as an image repository for scanned luggage images. The deal is estimated at $5 million over the life of the agreement.

Brad Clemmons, Chief Technology Officer for NSS stated, "InVision required a stable, reliable NAS device that could store and migrate data in a very secure environment and a company that could provide flexibility in design capabilities, software development, network consulting, and hardware integration to meet their needs. NSS was able to meet all these requirements with our SPANStor V5 NAS operating system and our team of design engineers and support engineers."

The NSS SA500/500T is a family of NAS appliances that utilize IDE disk technology offering RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 to deliver an exceptional price/performance ratio while insuring data integrity through RAID utilization. Also available through NSS is a data replication/migration package, SPANSync. This product is a "one to many" or "many to one" data replication utility that works in conjunction with SPANSnap, a snapshot utility capable of up to 4096 snapshots, to synchronize changed data and migrate the changed data only from the source(s) to the target(s). "The combination of these capabilities provides an integration friendly environment for solutions that require redundant, secure, file level storage repositories that are not a burden on available network bandwidth," said Tom Piacentini VP Sales and Marketing for NSS. "The partnership with InVision represents an ideal application for our NAS appliance and NSS is pleased to be providing a part of the systems that support the Home Land Security efforts."
