LeftHand NETWORKS HELPS STORE WONDERS OF THE UNIVERSE

LeftHand Networks, a leading provider of complete, integrated IP-SAN storage solutions, announced that the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Rocky Mountain Region's leading resource for informal science education, is utilizing LeftHand Networks' products as the storage solution for its digital library of data and images in the Museum's Space Odyssey exhibition. The Museum's Space Odyssey project is designed to teach people of all ages about our beautiful and dynamic universe. Museum visitors will participate in real-time space discoveries, search for life on other planets, find out more about current space missions and experience the most advanced planetarium in the world. Unique hands-on experiments and live "street theater" will encourage Museum visitors to remain personally involved and interested in modern space science adventures.

LeftHand Networks' IP SAN -- a combination of Distributed Storage Matrix (DSM) software and Network Storage Module (NSM) hardware -- supports the digital content used throughout the Space Odyssey exhibition. Since most of the information gathered about space exists in digital form, how that information is stored plays a key role in making it easily accessible and easily updated.

The IP SAN totals approximately 3.5 terabytes of data, with future growth as limitless as the cosmos. With LeftHand Networks' products, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science has excellent storage resources and the ability to move information around more efficiently. As the Museum's storage needs grow, the Denver Museum can simply plug in new NSMs without any reconfiguration issues or downtime; the DSM software automatically recognizes and utilizes new capacity.

"As we evaluated storage alternatives to support our unique and demanding requirements, we had three key criteria: affordability, scalability and manageability," said Vince Wolfe, project director of Space Odyssey for the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. "We selected LeftHand Networks because it could satisfy all of our requirements."

"We're very pleased to play a key role in such a groundbreaking educational project," said Bill Chambers, president and CEO at LeftHand Networks. "Our innovative and cost-effective solutions are helping organizations of all types address their most challenging data storage requirements."

LeftHand's DSM and NSM products combine to enable customers to create an IP SAN for database and application servers, as well as disaster recovery and disk-to-disk backup solutions. Pricing for the Distributed Storage Matrix starts below $20,000 for a complete, fully featured solution.
