Top Of The News - Hardware:Procom To Demonstrate NetFORCE 4000 NAS Filer At AHRA ConferenceProcom Technology will demonstrate its high-end NetFORCE 4000 series NAS filer as part of picture archival and communication system (PACS) at AHRA, the annual conference of the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators' annual conference. AHRA 2003 is being held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif., August 11-13. The demonstrations will take place in booth #320/322, where Southwest Imaging Inc, a value-added reseller for the medical industry, and Marotech Inc, South Korea's leading PACS provider, are jointly exhibiting. The Marotech PACS will include viewing workstations connected to a NetFORCE model NF4100 serving as the key enabling element of the PACS architecture. Introduced in March, the NetFORCE 4000 series brings to Procom's successful NAS filer family improved storage density and performance, thanks to lower-profile components and a 2-gigabit-per-second Fibre Channel back end. The new series is especially suited to the high-bandwidth network environments of digital archiving providers in the medical imaging community. The filers enable quick, reliable access to the dense medical data of applications such as MRIs, CT scans and anatomic modeling, which typically use hundreds of megabytes of storage space. The NetFORCE 4000 series is scalable to more than 30 terabytes of storage capacity, integrates seamlessly into any IT environment, and provides traditional NAS benefits such as ease of use and true file sharing. "NetFORCE NAS filers play a big part in reducing response time by an order of magnitude for the PACS viewing workstations," said Reza Sadri, Ph.D., Procom's chief technologist, who also oversees a company program addressing the storage needs of the medical industry. "We're excited to be at AHRA 2003 with our Marotech and Southwest Imaging partners and to be demonstrating the benefits of our latest NetFORCE entry to the radiology industry." |
