PROCOM INTRODUCES NEW MIDRANGE NAS FILER

Procom Technology , a leading provider of network attached storage (NAS) solutions, introduced the NetFORCE 1800, a compact, midrange NAS filer that is ideal for small and medium businesses, as well as specific applications such as Telco, financial and document imaging. The new NAS filer provides modular scalability up to a full terabyte of storage in only 2U of rack space, and users can ultimately scale in multi-gigabyte to multi-terabyte increments to an aggregate 6 terabytes.

The NF1800 runs on Procom's highly optimized NetFORCE OS 4.2 operating system, which enables scalability, network file sharing and improved data delivery and is the same OS used across the entire NetFORCE family, providing a consistent management interface. The new filer generates more than 13,000 input/output operations per second -- three times better than the earlier model NF1750 -- utilizing industry-proven hardware RAID for optimum performance and reliability.
