Features - Storage Innovations:NETWORK ENGINES AND BOCADA DELIVER BackupReport ApplianceNetwork Engines Inc, a leading development, manufacturing and distribution partner for storage and security software and equipment providers, and Bocada Inc, "the Storage Intelligence Company," announced an agreement to develop, manufacture and distribute the industry's only agentless storage intelligence solution on an appliance. The appliance will be available exclusively through TidalWire, Network Engines' distribution operations. The BackupReport Appliance delivers a centralized view of all critical backup activity across multiple servers, backup products, operating systems and storage technologies. "Bundling BackupReport software on an appliance with all the necessary components such as Microsoft's SQL database is a real benefit for customers," said Drake Pruitt, vice president of marketing for Bocada. "By partnering with Network Engines, Bocada is making it easier for IT managers to install the industry's leading backup visibility solution critical to reducing the cost and increasing the recoverability of their protected data. We believe the appliance version of BackupReport will be a great advantage to IT managers, particularly those in small-to-medium sized businesses where there is a tremendous need for this information." The BackupReport Appliance enables enterprises, regardless of size and complexity of the storage network, to increase reliability while reducing data protection costs. BackupReport is the only storage intelligence solution that does not require deployment of software agents. Through four integrated modules, BackupReport collects, stores, analyzes and distributes information on data protection operations irrespective of the data protection architecture in use. "Because businesses spend hundreds of millions of dollars a year to protect their data, they need an effective tool to gain visibility into their backup operations," said Mike Riley, vice president of marketing and strategy for Network Engines. "We believe the BackupReport Appliance provides IT managers with an essential solution that is designed to collect, consolidate, and present the information required to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of their data protection operations." The BackupReport Appliance will be available from Network Engines' distribution operations in October. Pricing will begin at $12,995 depending on configuration. |
