Innovative Storage Solution Now Available Worldwide

Nexsan Technologies, a leader in innovative storage solutions, announced that its dual-controller version of the award-winning InfiniSAN ATAboy2 storage array, which delivers the robust performance demanded by for digital video, streaming media and other high-demand, throughput-intensive applications, is now shipping in volume to customers worldwide.

Nexsan's ATAboy2 with dual 2 Gbit Fibre Channel controllers builds on the record-setting single controller performance of the company's architecture to deliver sustained throughput of over 340 MB per second at a cost near half a cent per megabyte. The dual Ultra160 SCSI version is scheduled to ship within the month.

The ATAboy2 provides enterprise storage customers with an unmatched combination of cost, performance and high capacity. The additional performance embodied in the dual controller option delivers twice the performance within the same compact, affordable package that customers have come to expect from Nexsan.

The compact design allows two 1.75 TB RAID sets to be mounted in just 3u of rack space, providing 3.5 TB of high-performance storage supporting up to 32 LUNS per controller. The dual-controller configuration not only delivers the highest performance in its class, but in addition to standard SCSI attachment, Nexsan also gives customers the choice to use 2 Gbit Fibre Channel. This enables easy connectivity to Storage Area Networks that are increasingly common in broadcast, pre-press and other graphic arts and digital content creation environments. When equipped with dual Fibre Channel controllers, the ATAboy2 is a SAN-ready solution with full support for fabric login and Arbitrated Loop, as well as compatibility with 1 Gbit FC environments.
