ARKEIA RELEASES IBM DB2 PLUG-IN FOR MISSION-CRITICAL BACKUP

Arkeia, an international leader in enterprise backup software, announced the availability of a hot backup plug-in for IBM DB2 databases. Utilizing a combination of Arkeia backup with IBM DB2 servers, database managers can protect mission critical data and avoid expensive downtime for users.

Features of the new Arkeia plug-in include:

• Full integration with DB2 API and methodology to ensure smooth operation, online or off line
• Hot backup of online files with convenient GUI
• Scheduled backups: full, incremental or delta
• Simplified automatic restore from incremental or delta backups
• Optimized high-speed performance, multiple security checks.

Additionally, the Arkeia DB2 plug-in includes a "userexit" feature that utilizes push technology to automatically initiate client-side archive log backup.

Arkeia's plug-in for DB2 is easy to install and configure via the convenient Arkeia GUI navigator. The plug-in is currently available for Linux.

The Beta Linux version of the plug-in is available for download at www.arkeia.com/downloadb eta.html. Unix and Windows versions will be added afterward. Price per protected DB2 server is $990 for Linux and Windows systems and $1,990 for Unix.
