Features - Storage Innovations:CIPRICO INTRODUCES NEXT GENERATION TALON STORAGE SOLUTIONSCiprico Inc, a leading provider of storage solutions that simplify and accelerate digital media workflows, announced the availability of its next generation TALON storage solution. TALON 2211 is the first 2 Gb per second Fibre Channel RAID storage device to feature a removable and transportable disk pack. With guaranteed data delivery of up to 325 MB per second per system, TALON is ideal for both commercial and military Command and Control (C4ISR) applications, including video capture and analysis and database/application deployment. Field ready and fully deployable, TALON 2211 is ruggedized for the most demanding environments, such as those found in broadcast trucks, ground stations or surveillance aircraft. Unlike traditional disk arrays, TALON 2211 has a single disk pack with which an entire data set (up to 1.1 TB) can be removed and/or replaced in seconds. TALON 2211 provides the highest level of reliability, fault tolerance and performance for the most data-intensive digital media workflows. "Our first generation TALON was successfully used in many fact-finding and video capture missions in the recent Afghanistan and Iraq engagements. Our customers were able to transfer and store a large amount of critical information with greater ease and speed, rather than relying on traditional storage systems or removable media, such as tape or CDs," said Robert H. Kill, president and CEO for Ciprico. "TALON is an outstanding solution for any organization that has complex visual computing applications operating in a very demanding environment. We are excited about the early positive responses we've had to this innovative product." Available now, Ciprico introduced the TALON 2211 at the Air Force Association's National Convention in Sept. 15-17 in Washington, D.C. More information about the TALON 2211 can be found at www.ciprico.com. |
