SUNGARD PARTNERS WITH DOT HILL FOR INFORMATION SOLUTIONS

Dot Hill announced that it has been selected as a storage technology partner by SunGard Availability Services in the United Kingdom to provide data storage in high availability solutions and in SunGard's data centers. SunGard Availability Services offers its clients high availability hosting at state-of-the-art data centers and disaster prevention, containment and recovery programs.

SunGard is using SANnet II Fibre Channel storage systems for both its contracted high availability services as well as its own data center infrastructure. Because SANnet II is interoperable with today's major operating systems, platforms and fabric switches, SunGard uses the systems in heterogeneous storage area networks and direct attached configurations. It also uses SANnet II to provide high availability hosting and fixed site disaster recovery at its UK data centers.

SunGard is using SANnet II Fibre Channel storage systems in a number of specific product areas:

• As back-end storage for its enterprise-wide electronic data vaulting (EDV) services, TeleVault, VytalVault and Mobile Vault.

Its real time scalability allows us to easily expand capacity as we add new customers."

• As heterogeneous storage for "Mobile" and "Quick-Ship" services providing large capacity storage in a small footprint with multiple host connectivity in a single unit.
• As heterogeneous storage in its "Fixed Hot Site" solutions for "Workplace" and "Distributed Systems" customers who have a Fibre Channel storage requirement of under 2 terabytes.
• As an alternative to "on-platform" storage solutions in its "High Availability Hosting" operation.

SunGard is also working with Dot Hill to develop a data replication solution using Axis Storage Manager to add to its existing solution set of data replication offerings.

According to industry analyst Gartner Dataquest, the worldwide IT services market is projected to reach more than $173 billion in annual sales in 2003. Gartner ranked SunGard in the top 20 in IT services revenue for the first quarter of 2003.
