AMERICAN MEGATRENDS UPGRADES StorTrends NAS SOFTWARE

American Megatrends Inc (AMI), a leader in storage and computing innovations worldwide, announced the release of its Linux-based StorTrends NAS software version v2.2. This upgrade allows AMI to supply customers with support for multiple languages, enhanced Active Directory Services (eADS), a new GUI for ease of use and increased reliability.

"StorTrends v2.2 is an ideal fit for any network-based storage," said Jose Rodriguez, CEO of TBA in Portugal. "The launch of this upgrade marks the first time a Linux-based software has achieved a seamless integration in the Windows world, while keeping all of the benefits of an independent application serving all networks with the same respect. My customers just love that."

AMI implemented some of the new features based on feedback it received from its international storage customers. AMI saw a trend in companies progressively installing Linux-based systems into their networks and assigning NAS to important roles in their storage infrastructures. With the growing need by its customers worldwide to implement a Linux-based NAS to reduce their total cost of storage management, AMI released StorTrends NAS software v2.2 to allow for the implementation of a user-friendly GUI in a wide variety of languages.

"StorTrends NAS software v2.2's easy integration and complementing user-friendly dashboard are great management features with high reliability," said Carsten Wilde, COO of StarLine Computer in Germany. "The addition of multi-language support makes StorTrends v2.2 a premium choice for enterprise storage solutions, at an affordable price."

StorTrends NAS software, offered to the channel on AMI's StorTrends 2104 hardware and as standalone software to OEMs, supports a variety of network storage applications and its flexible architecture and performance allows administrators to implement it for a wide range of storage applications. Small- to high-end businesses and home office users can create 'plug-n-run' storage with the NAS software and create advanced, fast backup and departmental or group level storage.

"StorTrends 2.2 is a great contribution to today's storage demand," said Winfried Prohl, AMI Germany's managing director. "It provides high-end features to each SMB and IT department worldwide. The new NAS software is easy to handle, attractive and gives users the same opportunities that a custom-tailored solution would."

The NAS software can be used from anywhere and supports a variety of languages, including Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French and German. It features a fast hardware setup, increased reliability with mirroring support and eADS support that allows administrators to easily change the access rights from the client.
