I-TECH ADDS SAS ANALYSIS TO PowerFrame STORAGE TEST SYSTEM

I-TECH, a technology leader in high-speed data storage test solutions, announced that Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) analysis support for the I-TECH PowerFrame Storage Test System has begun shipping. The PowerFrame is a comprehensive multi-protocol test solution for analysis and monitoring storage devices and infrastructure. Interchangeable PowerLink Modules provide support for specific protocols.

The I-TECH SAS PowerLink Module is a powerful and flexible analysis tool for monitoring SAS data and reducing time to market. It provides four independent channels of SAS analysis per module, supporting up to 32 channels in one PowerFrame system. User-selectable transfer rates of 1.5- and 3.0-Gbps are supported by powerful capabilities to search, trigger, and filter on SAS frame types, commands, primitives and out-of-band (OOB) signals, which includes providing timing deltas between ALIGN bursts. Four default trace views are provided for displaying captured data and can be customized to maximize productivity.

I-TECH SAS analysis provides the most cost-effective solution for the early demands of the industry. Recognizing the role of Serial ATA (SATA) support in the advancement of SAS, I-TECH will follow the introduction of SAS analysis with decode support for SATA.

A single, integrated software application is used by all PowerLink Modules in the PowerFrame. Any combination of protocols and transfer speeds are supported, providing the ability to time correlate trace data across all protocols. The PowerFrame has I-TECH's patented hardware search capability for locating events, such as frames, primitives or errors in a trace in seconds. Modules can be shared across PowerFrame system models, making it the most flexible and cost-effective test system on the market.
