Building on BakBone's already established footprint in India, this announcement comes on the heels of a number of other significant wins for BakBone in the region. These include the subsidiaries of Nokia, Volvo and several financial and banking institutions. "This win reinforces the momentum BakBone is seeing in the storage management software market in India and we are pleased that Sify Hosting has chosen to implement NetVault as their preferred backup and recovery software solution," said Howard Weiss, managing director for Asia Pacific at BakBone Software. Fueled by the growth of information and data across extended enterprises and the increasing number of high availability enterprise-level applications such as ERP, CRM and data warehousing software, the need for data recovery and data management solutions for 24-7-365 business continuance has quickly evolved. According to market research firm IDC, the market for storage software solutions in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 34.4 percent in the five years between 2002 and 2007.
