BiTMICRO UNVEILS 2.5M IOPS, 16GB/S E-DISK SAN FC SOLUTION

BiTMICRO Networks, a pioneer in intelligent ATA / IDE, SCSI, USB, VME, Compact PCI, Firewire and Ethernet flash-based solid state disks, delivers a wave of major new system innovations in the E-Disk SAN Fibre Channel storage solution. Unveiled publicly today at CeBIT 2004 in Hannover, Germany, the E-Disk SAN FC is being showcased throughout the event at BiTMICRO's booth C2, stand 7G2, in the SAN/NAS Exchange Pavilion.

The E-Disk SAN SZF Fibre Channel solid state disk drive storage solution establishes a new category of high I/O density storage solutions ideal for applications with high processing and high bandwidth requirements. The E-Disk SAN SZF is designed to provide higher IOPS (I/O per second) performance with the highest levels of reliability for radar/sonar applications, digital signal processing, computer-aided engineering and simulations, medical imaging, video editing, real-time sensor processing, homeland security applications, i.e., facial recognition, medical imaging and other business intelligence applications.

The E-Disk SAN SZF allows uninhibited performance acceleration of enterprise applications by enabling hardware consolidation and providing spacious real estate for data streaming applications and I/O intensive files. Available in a 48U cabinet consuming less than 5,000 watts, the E-Disk SAN SZF boasts a maximum capacity of 16.5TB, which is the highest capacity solid state flash-based SAN solution available in the market today. BiTMICRO's E-Disk SAN SZF is a true enterprise-class solid state storage solution, conforms to open standards, and is interoperable with most major operating systems and fibre channel switches.

In addition to its incredibly fast 16GB per second data transfer time and 2.5 million IOPS, the E-Disk SAN SZF offers an impressive reliability specification of 400,000 hours MTBF. The reliability rating of the E-Disk SAN SZF is based on testing in a 7x24x365 100 percent duty cycle enterprise-class workload environment and therefore is ideally suited for meeting the needs of IT professionals challenged by continuing server and storage consolidation issues.

Based on BiTMICRO's intelligent E-Disk platform of flash solid state disks (SSDs), the E-Disk SAN SZF is a SSD cache solution that comes with complete hardware redundancy, remote software management worldwide, and optional advanced RAID controller functionality for ease of use.
