Features - Storage Innovations:BROCADE TO DEMO EXTENDED FAMILY OF INTELLIGENT SWITCHES AT SNWBrocade Communications Systems Inc, a leading provider of infrastructure for Storage Area Networks (SANs), will showcase its entire family of SilkWorm switches and directors April 6-8 at Storage Networking World Conference in Phoenix. Brocade is demonstrating its new entry level switches designed for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) as well as for enterprise departments and remote offices. Designed for low cost of entry without sacrificing functionality, the SilkWorm 3250 and SilkWorm 3850 switches provide the same high-level performance and reliability features as Brocade enterprise-class switches. Brocade will also demonstrate its Multiprotocol Router and Multiprotocol SAN Routing Services, which include three types of services: Fibre Channel Routing Service (FCRS) for FC-to-FC routing, FCIP Tunneling Service for distance extension, and iSCSI Gateway Service for connecting low cost servers to Fibre Channel resources. These services provide new options for consolidating SAN islands and extending SAN benefits over multiple networks, to larger SAN sizes, and across longer distances. SNIA Interoperability and Demonstration LaboratoryThe Storage Networking World Interoperability and Demonstration Laboratory will feature the Brocade SilkWorm 12000 Director, the Brocade Multiprotocol Router, and the Brocade SilkWorm 3250, 3800 and 3900 enterprise fabric switches. As a member of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), Brocade collaborated with industry-leading vendors to deliver demonstrations, including a multi-vendor fabric in the main demonstration SAN. Brocade is participating in the following interoperability demonstrations through SNIA's Supported Solutions Forum:
In addition to its involvement in the SNIA Solutions Forum, Kamy Kavianian, Brocade director of product marketing, and Jason Lamb, Brocade SAN architect, will speak on storage security, including security assessment, industry trends, standards and solutions in the "SAN Security: Securing the SAN Infrastructure" session at SNW at 8:30 a.m. on April 8. |
