Features - Enterprise Data Insights:DataCore, LOYOLA TO SUPPORT HOMELAND SECURITY EXERCISEDataCore Software, an independent software vendor specializing in storage control, management and consolidation, announced that Loyola Enterprises Inc has integrated SANmelody Disk Server software into its SAN-FIRE system, which is being deployed by Naval Air Systems Command to support the Joint Forces Command during the Homeland Security (HLS) Determined Promise exercise. Determined Promise is an annual exercise focusing on Military Assistance to Civil Authorities (MACA) and incorporates Homeland Defense and Homeland Security situations. SAN-FIRE, a storage area network-Fibre Integrated Resource Engine, is a fully integrated, ultra-high speed, fault tolerant, geospatial processing system incorporating both servers and up to 4TB of storage per unit. SANmelody handles automated storage provisioning, disk performance acceleration, high availability and remote data replication for the geospatial simulations, 3-D modeling, Geological Information Systems (GIS) and other database processing. Benito Loyola, president of Loyola Enterprises Inc said: "Our customers recognize the incredible advantages our systems provide the government and commercial geospatial market space. SAN-FIRE is a major step towards processing and provisioning critical data that will allow Homeland Defense personnel to immediately access vital decision-making information. DataCore enables us to support this mission-critical application processing with a resilient, high performance, highly available SAN architecture that leverages the cost-effectiveness of COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) technology." "In these complex computing and simulation environments with such importance to the nation, it is crucial that the foundation be the absolute fastest and most reliable storage system available -- and DataCore is proud to be the ones providing the storage software platform," said George Teixeira, CEO and president of DataCore Software. "Our R&D team brings decades of experience in building life-critical, high-availability storage control software for both public and private sectors, so it's no surprise that SANmelody is finding a role in support of high priority government operations." |
