SNIA IP STORAGE FORUM HITS THE ROAD WITH IT EDUCATIONAL SERIES

The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) IP Storage Forum announced that it will launch a new series of on-the-road seminars in the fall, and will, for the first time, bring its seminars to Canada. In addition to its events in Atlanta and East Rutherford, N.J., on Sept. 23 and Nov. 18, respectively, the IP Storage Forum will conduct seminars in Toronto on Oct. 14 and Montreal on Oct. 18.

The IP Storage On-the-Road Seminar Series educational events are free, half-day presentations that include strategic and technical sessions conducted by storage forum experts, leading analysts and key vendors. In addition to hearing first hand customer case studies and best practices, attendees will receive deployment advice from industry experts.

"Establishing a presence in Canada is a significant step forward in our continued promotion of the global adoption of IP storage and its standards," said David Dale, chair of the SNIA IP Storage Forum. "The SNIA is quickly evolving into a worldwide organization, and our expansion into Canada is an important part of that evolution. We are looking forward to bringing our successful educational events to the Canadian market."

The seminars are designed for those interested in complementing their existing SAN infrastructures with IP Storage, as well as cost effectively consolidating storage and managing data by leveraging the IP-native SAN solutions. Attendees typically include CIOs, CTOs, IT directors, managers and architects as well as resellers and integrators.

Yubert Fang, vice president of business development at Conduit Systems, said, "I was impressed with the quality of presenters and exhibitors at the IP Storage event, as the information they gave was very timely and useful on emerging storage technologies. It was refreshing to see vendors that normally compete against one another actually working together toward the common goal and benefit of the iSCSI market. The vendors were even presenting their competitors solutions."
