BREECE HILL LAUNCHES iStoRA 4000 SAIT DATA MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

Breece Hill answers the data protection and information lifecycle management needs of their customers with the new iStoRA 4000 SAIT Data Management Solution, the latest addition to the Breece Hill iStoRA family of disk-to-disk-to-tape (D2D2T) products.

Using Sony's SAIT technology, the iStoRA 4000 has the ability to archive up to 15TB of data. Leveraging the capabilities of SATA disk and SAIT tape with the powerful and intuitive Integrity data management software engine, the iStoRA 4000 delivers unmatched enterprise functionality to the end user.

Single-Box System Delivers Up To 15TB Of Data

The iStoRA 4000, based on Breece Hill's Information Storage and Retrieval Architecture, is a 4U rack-mountable, combined-media data protection system for complete data management. It features an Intel-based server and data protection software that performs policy-based data traffic and storage management. The iStoRA 4000 also integrates a 2.4TB Serial-ATA disk array and a tape autoloader with a choice of tape formats, yielding capacities up to 15 TB. The iStoRA 4000 combines the best features that disk and removable storage can deliver, including:

• A cost-effective backup, recovery and archive solution from a single-box architecture.

• Staged backup from network clients and network-attached storage (NAS).

• Policy-based, multi-staged and fully managed replication and migration of protected data.

• File grooming, based on file types, ownership, and/or other parameters.

• Full media tracking with file-level recovery from media that is online, near-online, offline or offsite.

The Second In A Series Of D2D2T Products

The iStoRA 4000 SAIT is the second offering in a family of products featuring disk-to-disk-to-removable storage. Further iStoRA products will address a wide range of platforms and capacities to satisfy the data protection and storage management needs of the smallest companies and the largest organizations.
