Features - Storage Innovations:FUJITSU TO SHOWCASE END-TO-END MEDICAL IMAGING STORAGE AT RSNAFujitsu Computer Products of America Inc announced that it demonstrated its medical imaging storage solutions at the 2004 90th annual Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA 2004). The annual RSNA Scientific Assembly is an opportunity for medical imaging professionals to access current research results and cutting-edge technology. Fujitsu Magneto-Optical (MO) storage solutions have been trusted by medical imaging specialists to protect important data for more than a decade. At RSNA 2004, Fujitsu showcased a variety of solutions including the DynaMO 1300 Pocket with DICOM Viewer. The solution combines the ultra-portable, 1.3GB DynaMO Pocket drive with DICOM image viewing software, allowing users to transport DICOM images and data on 3.5 inch MO disks (MODs) from medical imaging equipment to notebook PCs and workstations for convenient offline review. The USB 2.0 "bus-powered" Fujitsu DynaMO Pocket drive is an ideal solution for ultrasound and medical imaging practitioners. Fujitsu also demonstrated new solutions for trusted data archival important to HIPAA and other regulatory compliance standards. Fujitsu representatives will offer attendees a sneak preview of security software that will allow MO users to quickly and easily protect data from intrusion from unauthorized parties. The company will also showcase new technology that will allow users to create indelible, but updateable records for data archive. By providing secure data storage combined with MO's long history as an archival medium, MO disk technology continues to be the natural choice for storing critical data. "Medical imaging practitioners have long trusted Fujitsu MO disks to store and archive important patient data because we offer rugged media with an archival life of more than 50 years," said Dan Dalton, director of optical products at Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc. "We're excited to introduce these state-of-the-art software solutions to our customers. By providing protection against intrusion our medical users will have piece of mind in knowing that their data is completely safe and secure." |
