NEC SOFT TO OEM DataCore's SANmelody DISK SERVER SOFTWARE

DataCore, an independent software vendor specializing in storage control, management and consolidation, announced that NEC Soft Ltd has started reselling a SANmelody software based storage system named "MelodiousStor." NEC Soft has incorporated DataCore's disk server software technology into its product portfolio to address storage consolidation and solutions for backup, disaster recovery, auto-provisioning, replication and capacity expansion over SANs and LANs.

DataCore's disk server software enables NEC Soft to provide a wide range of storage solutions and services including system consulting, design, implementation, non-disruptive capacity upgrades and support -- in an integrated package.

Peter Thompson, managing director APAC of DataCore Software Corp, commented, "NEC Soft has tremendous market presence and the proven know-how to deploy new capabilities like SANmelody disk servers in order to radically simplify and cost reduce user IT environments."

Masayuki Yoshimura, general manager of the Platform Systems Division within NEC Soft Ltd, added, "Storage demand is significantly increasing because of Internet expansion. NEC soft has already shipped its first systems and is planning on installing some 300 systems over the next three years. The systems will be exhibited at the annual NEC corporate sponsored "iEXPO2004" event. This major EXPO highlights major new technologies from NEC group members to its wide base of customers and partners. The event is located in Tokyo.
