DataMirror and J.D. Edwards Extend Partnership
to Include Data Warehousing
ACTION ITEMS
DataMirror Corporation and J.D. Edwards formally announced that DataMirror will join the J.D. Edwards OneWorld data warehousing initiative to deliver comprehensive data warehousing solutions. Under this initiative, J.D. Edwards customers can quickly and easily map data from J.D. Edwards WorldSoftware and OneWorld applications to operational data stores and data warehouses. DataMirror Transformation Server provides efficient and advanced extraction, transformation and replication for J.D. Edwards' supported databases.
DataMirror Transformation Server can be integrated with decision support and data warehousing tools from other J.D. Edwards Data Warehousing partners, including Oracle Corporation, Cognos, Information Builders and Showcase. J.D. Edwards' customers now have a powerful capability to capture changes in multiple source databases and then transform this data into customized formats for decision support systems. Changed data can be cleansed and enhanced while transporting and consolidating it into operational data stores (ODSs) or directly into warehouse tables. This can be done in real-time, periodically or on demand.
"DataMirror has been a strategic partner for the past two years, supporting our customers' distributed data processing requirements," said Mike O'Meara, Director of Technical Marketing at J.D. Edwards. "By including DataMirror as an integral part of our data warehousing initiative, we are reinforcing our philosophy to offer simplicity, choice and accessible data by providing our customers with enhanced data extraction, cleansing and transformation capabilities. This will enhance their information and increase the benefits achieved from implementing data warehouses."
"DataMirror Transformation Server complements and reinforces J.D. Edwards' commitment to offer comprehensive data warehousing solutions to it's customers, " said Wayne Nathanson, Vice President, Business Development. "Also, since our product can be used for other enterprise replication requirements including high availability, data distribution and workload balancing in addition to supporting servers for electronic-commerce, customers can extend their investment giving them greater power and flexibility for the future. "
