Sentient, a leading provider of IT consulting and support services for the healthcare industry, has announced an agreement with Physician Reliance Network (PRN) to develop a data repository that will provide PRN with ad hoc reporting capabilities to support business needs assessment and forecasting. PRN is one of the nation's largest physician practice management companies dedicated to providing services to physicians focused on oncology care through a full-service integrated network of over 300 physicians in over 100 locations.

PRN has selected Sentient to develop a data repository that will consolidate data from the various physicians' office systems, enabling decision makers to quickly and accurately create custom reports.

"We chose Sentient because of its knowledge of the healthcare industry and technical expertise in healthcare information systems," said Mark Presswood, PRN's director of Business Information Systems. "There is a great need in healthcare to provide on-demand reporting of day-to-day business operations, and we believe our relationship with Sentient will meet our goals in that area."

Sentient has also agreed to provide PRN with prototyping for a clinical data warehouse that will enable PRN to deliver an even higher quality of patient care. Sentient has been the partner of choice for more than 500 organizations including Department of Defense Health Affairs, Foundation Health Systems, Humana, National Institutes of Health, Prudential, and SmithKline Beecham.

Sentient's services include project management, system implementation, systems integration, application development, and system support. Its consultants are experienced in multiple healthcare information systems including Compucare, HBOC's AMISYS managed care system, HSII, IDX, Lawson, and Sunquest.
