ShowBase and Quintillion Join Forces to Bring Powerful Information Mining Tools to the Web

ShowBase Inc. has announced that it has acquired Ottawa based company, Quintillion Corporation, in a transaction valued at $1,200,000. ShowBase now holds the rights to a data mining technology called Q-Why, which it will combine with its existing technology to develop powerful information mining solutions for the Web.

Q-Why is a GUI oriented data mining tool that uses a bottom-up approach to information discovery. ShowBase will integrate Q-Why with its existing technology to develop user-friendly mining solutions for the Internet/intranet with natural language expression capabilities. This cross-platform software solution will be 100% Java and will provide output in easy-to-read report format.

Les Horn has been involved in the High Tech Industry for the past thirty years and has extensive experience in engineering, sales and marketing, as well as business development. Mr. Horn was the Co-Founder, Director & V/P Engineering of Corel Systems Corporation and prior to that held several senior sales and marketing positions with Hewlett Packard Ltd. in the US, Canada and Europe.

Les Horn joins the ShowBase team as the Director of Business Development. In ShowBase he will be primarily responsible for creating strategic alliances, signing major license agreements, and increasing market penetration and sales volumes. Mr. Horn will participate in the formulation of marketing and overall business strategies and will also provide full representation for the interests of the existing Quintillion shareholders.
