InterNetivity has announced that dbProbe, its award winning Java-based data analysis tool, will support Informix MetaCube ROLAP Option 4.0 for the Informix Dynamic Server. Scheduled for delivery in September, 1998, dbProbe 4.0 will combine its advanced web-based OLAP capabilities such as fully interactive drilling-down, graphing and pivoting of axes with client-server deployment against a number of data sources, including Informix MetaCube.
"With its complete OLAP feature set and small footprint, dbProbe is an ideal complement to the power of MetaCube," said Fred Dixon, president of InterNetivity Inc. "dbProbe's support for key MetaCube features such as sampling and filtering will allow customers to easily deploy advanced data analysis capabilities to large user audiences via the web."
"We are pleased to see InterNetivity's support for Informix MetaCube," said Bob Walters, general manager for data warehousing at Informix. "This further demonstrates the position of Informix Dynamic Server with MetaCube ROLAP Option as the premier OLAP solution for high performance data warehouse and data mart environments. With dbProbe 4.0, our customers will have additional options for the deployment of OLAP capabilities to web based users."
dbProbe is designed to deliver the next generation in Web-based decision support tools. Written in 100% Pure Java, it offers highly scalable access to, and analysis of, multidimensional data over the Web. By combining its innovative Data Broadcasting architecture with support for client/server based installation, dbProbe 4.0 is designed to provide organizations one of the most flexible options for wide scale, web-based deployment of advanced OLAP capabilities.
In a recent review PC Week Labs said "dbProbe single-handedly blows away the myth that Java-based data analysis tools must be second-class citizens to their Windows cousins," and "Any organization with data analysis needs should evaluate InterNetivity's dbProbe upgrade, which sets a new standard of excellence in its market segment."
dbProbe 4.0, with support for Informix MetaCube and numerous feature enhancements is scheduled to ship in September, 1998. A beta version will be available by July 30, 1998.
