Seagate Software, a pioneer of Enterprise Information Management and a leader in Business Intelligence software, has announced an agreement with Informix for the inclusion of Seagate Crystal Info 6 in the Informix Decision Frontier Solution Suite. Seagate Crystal Info, an enterprise distributed reporting and analysis system that gives users the flexibility to format and distribute critical business information, provides native access to the Decision Frontier Solution Suite which integrates Informix Dynamic Server with Advanced Decision Support Option and Informix MetaCube ROLAP Option.

MetaCube Customers Can Take Advantage of Web and Channel Push Technology Seagate Crystal Info 6 takes advantage of convenient Channel Push Technology as a supplemental way to receive fast access to information via the Web. Channel Push Technology lets business users flag MetaCube reports, so they are notified as soon as updates occur, and enables the broadcast of timely information to MetaCube corporate customers. Users can securely view and analyze shared MetaCube reports from their Web browser, using Java, HTML, or ActiveX for full flexibility in their preferred environment.
Integration of the award-winning Seagate Crystal Reports in Seagate Crystal Info allows users to create virtually any kind of presentation-quality MetaCube report, and distribute it throughout the enterprise. Users can take advantage of Page-on-demand technology to download only the pages of a report required to their desktop. This thin-wire approach reduces network traffic and increases productivity since report pages are cached and shared.
Seagate Crystal Info is a Scalable Business Intelligence Solution The modular format and flexible pricing of Seagate Crystal Info 6 provides organizations with tools for cost-effective deployment across the enterprise based on individual users' requirements -- maximizing information-sharing capabilities and increasing efficiency. Each user requires a Client License, which provides secure access to the system, including the ability to view, analyze and schedule shared reports. The Report/Query Add-in enables users to design reports using the Info Report Designer. Customers pay for only the user features they require, and as their needs grow, the Seagate Crystal Info desktop is open for additional client modules to be integrated as required.
Five Seagate Crystal Info 6 Client Licenses and one Report/Query License will be available free of charge with MetaCube 4.0 in the latter part of Q3CY98. The version of Seagate Crystal Info 6 that will be bundled with MetaCube 4.0 will have access to only MetaCube and Informix Dynamic Server data. Full-featured versions of Seagate Crystal Info 6 are currently available through Seagate Software's existing product distribution channels, including its direct sales force plus hundreds of resellers and distributors worldwide.
