Woods Industries Selects Silvon Datatracker
for Mission-Critical Application Data Mart

Silvon Software, Inc. has announced that Woods Industries, Inc., a $220 million manufacturer of retail electrical products, has selected its DataTracker application data mart (ADM) solution for business intelligence. "We decided to replace our previous reporting and business management system with Silvon DataTracker because of the critical role that data warehousing has played to date and the expanded role that we feel it will play in supporting new acquisitions and products," said Tom McLenahan, chief information officer, Woods Industries Inc. "We believe the addition of DataTracker will greatly enhance our ability to do operational reporting and analysis in the day-to-day management of our business."
The Silvon DataTracker business intelligence solution at Woods currently supports 50 internal users and will soon be rolled out to remote users as well. This will enable sales managers and executives on the road and in the office to analyze sales data via the Internet using the Silvon DataTracker Web interface. Woods data warehousing system with Silvon DataTracker is already providing significant savings for programmers by eliminating the time delay for users to receive their reports for analysis.
"Although our previous data warehouse system provided tremendous benefits, it used to take more than a day for us to get our reports -- making it difficult to make timely, accurate decisions. The Silvon DataTracker solution has already been implemented in 5 departments and Woods expects DataTracker to be rolled out company-wide by the end of 1998.
