About Pine Cone Systems

Pine Cone Systems, founded by Bill Inmon, the father of the data warehouse concept and industry's leading data warehousing authority, was first to market with the only complete set of software tools specifically designed to help companies proactively manage their data warehouse and data mart environments. Usage Tracker, Content Tracker and several other key products now deliver information about the warehouse that has been largely unavailable or difficult and costly to obtain -- information such as who uses the warehouse, what data is being accessed and how the contents have changed over time.

Pine Cone's most recent offering, Meta Exchange, takes a revolutionary approach to metadata management -- it allows you to share, own and distribute metadata across heterogeneous technologies in distributed environments with automatic synchronization. Meta Exchange resolves the age-old conflict between shareability and autonomy using patented technology where each unit of metadata has only one owner, but can be shared throughout the enterprise. This unique approach eliminates the proprietary hold of centralized repositories and provides a unified view of both business and technical metadata.

Pine Cone's products are available on most hardware platforms and support Oracle, Sybase, Informix, DB2, and NCR/Teradata databases. The company's partners include: Brio Technology, Business Architecture Group, Business Objects, Cognos, Digital Equipment Corp., Fiserv, Hewlett-Packard, Informatica, Information Advantage, Informix Software, Intelligent Solutions, NCR, Oracle, Prism Solutions, StorageTek, Sun Microsystems, and Sybase.
