DataMirror Launches QuickMarts for J.D. Edwards Providing

DataMirror Corporation, a provider of data connectivity and resiliency software, announced the release of QuickMarts, a series of pre-configured business intelligence templates for DataMirror Transformation Server that automate the process of transforming J.D. Edwards data into relational data marts.
By using Transformation Server and QuickMart templates, J.D. Edwards customers can quickly and easily set up default-designed data marts which can be accessed by any presentation tool for query, reporting and analysis. Customers can choose from a range of available pre-built data marts. QuickMarts can also be easily customized to meet the specific business intelligence requirements of customers.
"Developing and rolling out a custom built J.D. Edwards data warehouse can take upwards of six months," said Kirk Dixon, Executive Vice President, Implementation for DataMirror. "With QuickMarts, J.D. Edwards customers using Transformation Server can start loading and replenishing data marts, and begin realizing the competitive advantages that they bring, within weeks."
The first generation of QuickMarts enables customers to extract data from J.D. Edwards World and OneWorld applications residing on IBM AS/400 systems to create data marts on the same machine, on a separate AS/400, or on a Windows NT server running Microsoft SQL Server. QuickMart technology is currently being developed that will automatically transform WorldSoftware and OneWorld data into star schemas on any DataMirror Transformation Server supported database, including Oracle and Sybase.
QuickMarts feature built-in management of J.D. Edwards UDC details, data dictionary, decimals and dates and enables users to map J.D. Edwards file and field names to descriptive table and column names automatically. Full product support services are provided by DataMirror as well as certified DataMirror Business Partners.
