Pilot Software Announces Retail Performance Monitor
ACTION ITEMS
Pilot Software, a provider of Web-based and client/server online analytical processing (OLAP) business intelligence applications, announces Retail Performance Monitor (RPM), a pre-built retail application solution fully integrated with the company's Pilot Decision Support Suite (PDSS).
RPM performs focused business reporting in an environment that is tailored to the needs of retail professionals. The application includes Price Sensitivity, Promotion and Discount, Daily Behavior Pattern, Year over Year Performance, Dashboard, Vendor and Buyer, and Share and Growth analysis. This intuitive and highly flexible application performs executive flash monitoring, store and merchandise contribution summaries, campaign and price-point analysis, product cannibalization, relative time comparisons, day of the week pattern identification, discontinued item views, and price sensitivity alerts. The application provides an enterprise view of the retail chain down to SKU and Store level performance.
With instant access to key information, retail professionals can easily drill down and identify the key trends that are driving their business. RPM empowers the retailer to intuitively identify groups of unprofitable products within stores, visualize the effects of price increases over time, evaluate the impact of markdowns on inventory or sales, monitor location and merchandise contribution, and manage promotional campaigns more effectively. The packaged application ultimately increases the understanding of their customer's buying behaviors.
"Retail Performance Monitor is a necessary complement to the merchandise planning process," said Walter Elliot, general manager, Pilot Software. "These highly specific applications allow planners and buyers to track and measure assortment performance, price markdowns, and customer preferences. Decision-makers can quickly and accurately understand their customer preferences and behaviors more proactively. RPM provides retailers with the knowledge they need to increase their customer intimacy."
Pilot works closely with current retail customers including such well-known names as Ahold, Kmart, and OfficeMax.
RPM is just one of a suite of industry specific analysis solutions Pilot offers (including Pilot's Web based Retail StoreCard also introduced today: See Pilot Software Announces Web-Based Retail "StoreCard" Decision Support Application) for swift, flexible deployment of solutions with customer data. Additionally, component objects allow for the easy customization and extension of these delivered solutions. RPM is fully integrated with PDSS, which is targeted at the full spectrum of cross-industry information users who need robust, high-performance analytical solutions. It enables people to analyze their operational, market and customer data, discover critical factors and trends that drive the business, then use that knowledge to take specific actions to optimize company performance. This results in business strategies and tactics that add value to the enterprise.
RPM will be available in December 1998 beginning at $50,000.
