Leading IT consulting firm Keane, Inc. announced it has acquired all of the outstanding capital stock of Emergent Corporation, a privately-held business consulting firm and systems integrator providing scalable data warehousing solutions. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Emergent's data warehousing solutions incorporate scalability, providing client companies with solutions that can manage large data sets, as well as the rapid growth of data, end users, application complexity and application functionality. This differentiator enables a company's data warehouse to grow as their needs increase and to adapt as their needs evolve over time. Emergent's solutions will be a key component of Keane's growing enterprise relationship management (ERM) practice. Keane's ERM solutions enable companies to improve their business performance through better customer relationships by being more responsive, proactive and knowledgeable about customer needs. Data warehousing is the technology enabler for turning detailed customer information into competitive advantage by improving customer tracking, targeting and marketing.
"Emergent adds significantly to the depth of Keane's capabilities and credentials in building scalable data warehousing solutions," said John Keane, Jr., office of the president for Keane. "Given the importance of data warehousing for building many large, customer-facing applications, Emergent clearly strengthens the competitiveness of Keane's ERM practice."
"Emergent is known for its proven ability to design and build sophisticated data warehouse solutions," said Ken Rudin, chief executive officer for Emergent. "Our success is due to our focus on building 'organic' solutions that can evolve and adapt as business requirements change. By combining our capabilities with Keane's ERM competencies, we will be able to provide our joint clients with a unique set of skills and experience in building solutions that have a positive impact on our clients' businesses."
