TrueFace Stands Alone on NT; Miros Inc. Announces the Latest in Its Cutting-Edge Face Recognition Product Line

Miros, Inc. announced the release of TrueFace NT, the latest product in its TrueFace product suite using face recognition technology. TrueFace NT authenticates users by their face and provides logon capability to Windows NT personal computers. TrueFace NT has all the features of Miros' TrueFace Network, released in 1998, but is functional on a standalone Windows NT computer.

This product was designed to meet the needs of the growing number of standalone and laptop PCs which run the Windows NT operating system. The product combines the client and server housed functions of TrueFace Network together on one machine and allows enrollment, verification, and user database administration, in a form which is easier for an individual user to manage.

TrueFace NT is based on neural network technology, which mimics the way the brain functions, isolating the face while ignoring the background elements. Enrollment into the system is easy; it's just like having your picture taken and can be completed by the user right on their computer. With the added security of an NT facial recognition logon, systems that were once simply protected by passwords can now be secured by the flash of a smile. TrueFace frees the user from having to remember multiple PINs and allows access with something that you literally cannot leave home without.

"We are very excited to release TrueFace NT to the corporate marketplace. With information security becoming a bigger issue everyday and computer fraud statistics continuing to rise, TrueFace NT offers a simple, non-intrusive method of security," said Dr. Michael Kuperstein, President and CEO of Miros, Inc. In addition to the logon security provided by TrueFace NT, the software also provides an audit trail, recording every authentication transaction in an easy to use database. "With the benefit of the audit trail keeping track of every logon attempt, TrueFace NT provides added security to the corporation and ultimately the end user."

Unlike their competition in the biometrics market, which includes companies selling fingerprint, voice and iris recognition, Miros is the only company that offers a solution - face recognition - which is essentially transparent to the user. Miros offers its users the advantage of easy to use, reliable and cost-effective technology for any networked setting.
