MICROSTRATEGY HELPS LEXIS-NEXIS BETTER SERVE
ITS CUSTOMERS
MicroStrategy Incorporated, a leading worldwide provider of missioncritical decision support systems, has announced that its customer, LEXIS-NEXIS, a leading provider of information services to more than 1.6 million subscribers worldwide, is using MicroStrategy's DSS Suite to improve customer service and support. LEXIS-NEXIS is the world's largest online service that helps a variety of business professionals to collect, manage and use information more productively.
"Our MicroStrategy-NCR solution is allowing us to analyze customer information in the data warehouse, something we previously were not able to do with ease," said Pam Dunsky, senior director of Enterprise Information Systems with LEXIS-NEXIS. "The application enables LEXIS-NEXIS to deliver products and services that match customer preferences, resulting in strengthened customer relationships and improved customer retention and growth in product usage."
Using MicroStrategy's decision support analysis tools to access NCR's Teradata data warehouse, 475 users -- including sales and business staff -- are able to access critical customer information and sales data to gain insight to customer accounts. The MicroStrategy application will enable LEXIS-NEXIS to provide products and services that better satisfy customer demand, resulting in increased revenue.
For instance, LEXIS-NEXIS employees will be able to answer all sorts of common business questions quickly and easily using MicroStrategy's DSS Agent and DSS Web products. "Which customers have contracts that are about to expire?" "Who were the top customers for a given service last week?" Answers to these business questions provide users with greater insight into customer service, contract renewal, revenue trends, and customer usage patterns.
"MicroStrategy's products are allowing easier implementation of our innovative customer data warehousing solution, allowing us to gain quick return on our technology investment and transition to a new reporting environment. The new tools are quick and easy-to-use and will free up our sales reps to spend more time with our customers," said Dunsky.
LEXIS-NEXIS is currently evaluating MicroStrategy's DSS Broadcaster, the industry's first Information Broadcast Server, so that pertinent customer information can be distributed to several output devices, including email, pager and mobile phones. MicroStrategy's decision support technology is highly optimized for use with a NCR Teradata-based data warehouse.
"By using MicroStrategy's flexible, powerful, and easy-to-use data warehousing solution, we are able to examine data in ways that enable us to target specific customers for marketing campaigns, identify new business prospects, and grow and expand our business," concluded Dunsky." MicroStrategy meets our specific needs and delivers the best in information technology."
