Carleton has introduced Pure.Extract, a high-performance native database solution that changes the paradigm for legacy customer data extraction. With its drag-and-drop, process flow-oriented GUI, Pure.Extract can be used by business analysts and less-experienced programmers to access diverse corporate MVS and AS/400 data sources. Pure.Extract is a component of Pure.View, Carleton's Active Customer Data Management solution for customer relationship management applications. It serves as the option for quickly migrating customer data from mainframe corporate databases and file structures to an open-systems customer data repository. It handles the significantly higher data volume requirements that customer-centric data warehouses present. These volumes are often 10-20 times greater than those for traditional product or financial warehouses. In addition, unlike other mainframe extraction tools, Pure.Extract requires only a single pass to extract the data, dramatically improving the performance and efficiency in the extraction and migration of data. Pure.Extract is now available. The design studio runs on Windows 95 or Windows NT. The production environment runs on MVS. Pure.Extract can natively extract source data from a wide range of mainframe sources, such as DB2, IMS and VSAM as well as sequential files. It produces load files for all major database platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, Informix, Teradata, and Sybase. Pricing starts at $75,000.
