At Intel Corporation's Pentium III Processor Preview Day, PLATINUM technology demonstrated a new Internet-based business solution developed for Intel that leverages PLATINUM's 3D visualization software and services. This new Internet-based application is the latest example of how trailblazing organizations are using 3D visualization technology to enhance their interaction with customers and differentiate themselves from competitors. Leveraging a version of PLATINUM's Cosmo Player 3D Web-browser plug-in optimized for Intel's Pentium III processor, the solution takes advantage of the increased 3D rendering performance and improved visual fidelity that Intel's new processor architecture offers.

The launch of Intel's Pentium III processor marks a significant milestone in helping customers more fully benefit from applications leveraging 3D visualization technology, especially for the Internet. "As the Internet begins to play an even greater role in the way companies interact with their customers, the importance of having compelling visuals that entice and inform these customers grows as well," said Ted Collins, senior vice president of PLATINUM's Internet commerce division. "Increasingly, companies with cutting-edge websites are looking to 3D visualization technology as a way to give them a competitive edge. This technology is helping them attract and retain customers, and better sell products and services."

"The combination of Intel's new Pentium III processor and PLATINUM's 3D visualization software and services enables computer users to enjoy an even more realistic 3D experience," said Stan Mo, director of tools and technologies at Intel. "PLATINUM is a key part of the IT industry's movement to help computer users take greater advantage of 3D technology for business, entertainment, and education."
