WhiteLight will support the decision processing of 400 concurrent users across eight GEFA business units in business-critical areas such as financial and sales analysis. GEFA considers WhiteLight a key element in its mission to improve information productivity, including enhancements to its data warehouses, reporting tools, sales applications, and financial planning and analysis systems.
"This is a strategic commitment for GE Financial Assurance," said Dan Greenshields, assistant vice president, ventures, for GE Financial Assurance. "We chose the WhiteLight server after a rigorous evaluation of available analytic solutions showed conclusively that it is the best in its class. As a powerful and flexible decision processing solution, it meets our needs for both efficiency and growth."
In addition to the licensing agreement, GE Capital has also committed to an investment totaling $1.5 million in WhiteLight. "We were so impressed by both the WhiteLight product and the company's determination that we decided to make this investment," said Greenshields.
"When a customer not only buys your product but also a piece of your company, it's strong validation that you are offering the right solution for today's business needs," said Dennis McGinn, WhiteLight's President and CEO. "This is a tremendous opportunity for us and for GE Financial Assurance."
In just one year in the marketplace, some of the largest enterprises in the world, across a range of industries, have purchased the WhiteLight Analytic Application Server as the foundation for strategic applications that link analysis with business action.
