American Software Broadens Intelliprise Business
Intelligence Solution With New Inventory Data Mart
ACTION ITEMS
American Software has announced the availability of a new Intelliprise data mart. Addressing financial inventory valuations as well as inventory turn levels, the Inventory Performance data mart provides business intelligence on the full spectrum of information relating to a company's inventory investment. This gives executives the visual cues and analysis capabilities to easily gain perspective and make better decisions.
The Inventory Performance data mart, along with American Software's Channel Performance data mart, provides a dashboard-like graphical user interface that represents the pulse of the business with clear visual indicators tuned to the executive's or manager's needs. The dashboard is exception based, indicating if a particular key performance indicator exceeds or falls below desired performance levels.
According to the AMR Research Alert on Enterprise Applications Strategies, February 23, 1999, "The Intelliprise user interface, driven from key performance indicators (KPIs), is built for multiple classes of users within an organization. High-level exception analysis directs the user to areas of his or her interest, allowing further exploration of business data."
The Intelliprise Inventory Performance data mart displays key performance indicators on the dashboard, including traditional financial Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) measures, as well as metrics from the Supply Chain Reference Model (SCOR). Combining these metrics provides both financial and operational views for quick business insights. Equally important, the Intelliprise Business Intelligence solution transforms daily business transactions into a barometer that provides a true perspective of the current business climate.
"Ease of use and ease of understanding are keys to success in the analytic application arena," AMR Research adds. "Here, American Software leads the pack."
The out-of-the-box business intelligence of Intelliprise, American Software's next-generation integrated supply chain ERP solution, does the analysis for customers. Management can simply drill down via the dashboard metric and view the analysis intuitively. All they have to do is set boundaries and decide which indicators they want triggered and at what rate. Drill downs from the dashboard provide both graphical and spreadsheet analysis of the state of the enterprise. Yet while designed for simplicity, the dashboard graphical user interface connects to the Intelliprise ERP system via sophisticated on-line analytical processing (OLAP) and data warehousing technologies.
"For enhanced decision-making, executives need easy-to-understand business intelligence tools to quickly monitor their enterprise, at any level and at any time," says James C. Edenfield, president and CEO of American Software. "Our solution translates raw data into useful information. Leveraging the intuitive dashboard design, everyone in the enterprise, from CEO to line of business management, will have the ability to respond to quickly changing market conditions."
American Software's Intelliprise Business Intelligence solution allows for consistent, one-source information across multiple operations and currencies. Intelliprise supplies periodic updates of business transactions to the data warehouse without the costly, time-consuming process of cleansing and preparing data. Collectively, these significant benefits allow companies to automatically translate raw data into valuable information and, in the process, realize the real value of their ERP solution.
